Red Light Therapy

Heal Faster, Train Longer

Red light therapy uses advanced light wavelengths to stimulate cellular energy production and accelerate recovery. At One50Fitness, this technology helps members reduce inflammation, repair muscles, and improve circulation. It’s a non-invasive solution designed for both athletes and beginners looking to bounce back faster from training. Sessions are available during staffed hours and can be reserved easily through our app, member portal, or the link below.

How does red light therapy work?

Red Light Therapy (RLT), or photobiomodulation, uses specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to stimulate your body’s natural cellular processes.

Cellular Energy Boost: The light penetrates the skin and is absorbed directly by the mitochondria (the “powerhouses” of your cells). This absorption acts like a rechargeable battery boost, enhancing the production of Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP), which is the primary source of cellular energy.

Repair and Regeneration: With this increase in energy, cells are better equipped to repair, regenerate, and function optimally. This boost is essential for muscle recovery after intense workouts and for overall tissue health.

Key Benefits: This process supports two core benefits:

  • Skin & Tissue Health: It helps stimulate collagen production and elastin, crucial for skin strength and elasticity, and increases circulation in the treated area.
  • Reduced Inflammation: By modulating the cellular environment, RLT helps reduce inflammatory signals, allowing tissues to heal more quickly and efficiently.

Red Light Therapy is widely considered safe and non-invasive, particularly when used within manufacturer guidelines and under professional supervision. At One50Fitness, your safety is paramount.

Here are the primary precautions we emphasize:

  1. Mandatory Pre-Screening: RLT may not be suitable for people with specific sensitivities, such as photosensitivity disorders, certain skin conditions, or those currently taking medications that increase sensitivity to light. We require a mandatory consultation with our staff to review your medical history before your first session.
  2. Proper Use: Using the device too frequently or at an intensity that is too high can potentially lead to temporary skin redness or minor irritation. Our trained staff will guide you through the correct exposure times and distance to ensure a comfortable and effective session.
  3. Eye Protection: While red light is generally safe for the eyes, the intensity of the light is very bright. We always provide and require the use of protective eyewear during your session to maximize comfort and safety.

In short, when you adhere to our safety guidelines, RLT is a highly beneficial and low-risk part of your recovery routine.

  • Pregnant women, customers with cardiac pacemakers, and patients with malignant tumors.
  • Customers who are allergic to light therapy or who take photosensitizers (such as chlorpromazine).
  • Customers with active hemorrhage or shock, and internal organ damage.
  • Customers with high fever, active tuberculosis, vasculitis obliterans, etc.
  • Patients with severe heart and kidney disease, such as heart failure, myocarditis, uremia, etc.
  • Patients with skin diseases should use it under the guidance of a doctor.

What do most clients notice right away (1-5 sessions)?

  • Improved mood
  • Full body relaxation
  • Energy boost (physical and mental)
  • Migraine relief (Calm mode = green light)
  • Pain relief (mild)

What results take more frequent uses (20-40 sessions)?

  • Increased endurance and elevated performance
  • Shortened recovery time
  • Pain relief (moderate to significant)
  • Skin improvements (visible)
  • Noticeable measurable decrease
  • Faster healing of injuries
  • For optimal results, we recommend a commitment of at least one month, with 3-5 sessions per week.
  • More time does not imply more benefits, and studies have shown that too much exposure may result in diminishing returns. We recommend 1 application per day and 3-5 sessions per week, and at least one rest day.
  • Consistent use over a lifetime is always better for wellness management.
  • Standard Treatment time is 10 minutes, 20 minutes maximum. That is all it takes to receive a therapeutic dose of light from the NEO Light Bed which offers the highest quality LED’s.
  • The light will emit a warmness
  • Your eyes may adapt to the light and once they turn off, you may see objects in green and blue until your eyes readjust to natural light.

Yes:

Green Light Mode

The green light is used in the “Calm” preset mode: it is combined with invisible near-infrared frequencies in the bed.

Benefits attributed to green light include:

  • Calming effect on the mind and body
  • Improves skin-appearance
  • Helps with light-sensitivity issues/migraines

Blue Light Mode

The blue light is used in the “Cleanse” preset mode (often combined with red light) in the bed.

Benefits attributed to blue light include:

  • Antibacterial / skin‐cleansing effects
  • Enhances mood, alertness, focus and attention

Because of the stimulating effect of blue light, sessions should be scheduled during the daytime, and avoid the late evening to avoid disruption of sleep and circadian rhythm.
